Ideal for those looking for quality, luxury and comfortable modern facilities in a rural farm setting, Morndyke Cottage has all the qualities of a country escape. The french windows in the living room open onto your patio that has chairs, a table and a fire pit to keep you warm and comfortable on a Summer’s evening. This then leads onto the old English garden that in turn leads to the free range hen run tucked away in the corner next to the old brick garden shed.
The cottage has recently been renovated with great attention to detail and luxury in mind. It is equipped with exceptional quality furniture and fittings - no expense has been spared. All your comforts have been kept in mind for a holiday to remember. Underfloor heating ensures your warmth and comfort in the colder months too. In a addition to this, the cottage is equipped with free WiFi and Netflix for guests.
The cottage is a single storey building comprising of a small kitchen with breakfast bar, kitted out with Emma Bridgewater crockery and kitchenware, a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge and cooker and a full range of utensils, cutlery and cookware.
The kitchen leads onto the living room which has been beautifully designed with Barker and Stonehouse furniture, a TV with Netflix, DVD player, books and board games for your entertainment if the weather takes a turn for the worse. There is an electric wood burning stove, sofa and armchair, coffee table, dining room table and chairs provided if you chose to stay in for the evening.
Your own utility and drying room holds the freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and all laundry and cleaning equipment- it’s a great place to keep your wellies and dry your coats in too.
Morndyke Cottage has two luxurious bedrooms kitted out with Laura Ashley soft furnishings. Both have views over the garden to the pastured fields beyond. The master bedroom and single bedroom allow for a range of sleeping options for your comfort and peace. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable with crisp white linen sheets and luxurious and comfortable beds (one King size and one single) to ensure a good night’s sleep after a day breathing in the fresh country air.
The bathroom lies between the bedrooms and comprises of a large shower unit, toilet and sink. There are complementary Duck Island products and waffle cotton bath robes can be provided for your convenience.
Open all year round, the minimum stay is 2 nights. Morndyke Cottage can sleep up to 3 people, we allow 1 child aged 12 or over to stay as long as they are sensible and calm near livestock.
Arrival is from 3pm onwards and and departure is before 10am.
Morndyke Cottage, the farm yard, farm and garden are a smoking free area.
Visitors wishing to tour the farm are requested to ask for a guide.
We welcome dogs at Morndyke Cottage and have our own two resident dogs. They are two small friendly and fun dogs that crave fuss and attention from visitors and are cheeky rascals. The cottage garden is enclosed for your own dog, all we ask is that you keep your dog on a lead at all times around all other areas of the farm.
A beautifully designed room comprising of Barker & Stonehouse furniture (including a king size bed), a vintage wardrobe, Laura Ashley soft furnishings and accessories, stunning pictures by Catherine Stephenson and feltwork by Needle Bugs Felting. There are dressing gowns (for a small charge) and a hairdryer provided for your personal use. The carpeted room benefits from underfloor heating.
A smaller, but perfectly formed room decked out in Barker & Stonehouse furniture, Laura Ashley soft furnishings and accessories and wall hangings, feltwork by Needle Bugs Felting. A dressing gown can be provided (for a small charge to cover laundry costs) and a hair dryer is also provided. The carpeted room benefits from underfloor heating
This room benefits from a large shower cubicle with two shower heads, complimentary white fluffy towels on a towel rail heater, underfloor heating and a tiled floor, a range of refillable Duck Island products.
This room has a quintessentially cosy cottage feel. The furniture is Barker & Stonehouse where the sofa and armchair are covered in a beautiful Harris Tweed. The blanket and cushions are the top of the range soft furnishings - Bronte by Moon, and there are a range of pictures including limited editions and original artwork. Dora Designs products add to the country ambience and a variety of books and games are included, as well as a vintage style record player and a number of old classics LPs. OS maps that have been purposefully designed, Yorkshire Life magazine has been purchased and a tourist guide written by the owner and illustrated by a local Yorkshire artist are available for your perusal. The Guest Information file also provides maps of walks from the farm. For the guest requiring a more modern take, Netflix is installed on the 43” TV and WiFi is available throughout. The room benefits from underfloor heating and is carpeted.
All your culinary needs are catered for including baking and bread making, cutlery, crockery and glassware, utensils and food storage in a fully equipped and perfectly designed space. Emma Bridgewater crockery and tin ware, Laura Ashley products and Barker & Stonehouse breakfast bar and bench are the products of choice, and of course no kitchen is complete without a dishwasher, microwave, cooker or fridge! The room has a tiled floor and benefits from underfloor heating too.
All your laundry needs are catered for in this underfloor heated and tiled room where coats can hang, and laundry can be cleaned in the washing machine & tumble dryer, then iron if so desired. Cleaning equipment is also included, as is a freezer, utility products and a first aid kit.
